The past few weeks have been very tricky. I've been finding it harder and harder to find enough sleep for some reason. The longest sleep I've had in the past weeks was 10 hours, with 30 minutes being the least. I'm not sure if it's the anxiety regarding the long-delayed room renovation, excitement, or my uncontrollable urge to keep overworking myself that's keeping me up, day and night.
I've also been dealing with back pain for two weeks now. I'm carrying a fat and gorgeous little man in my tummy and my due date is almost up. I tried wearing a belly support, but it's just too hot, that my belly ends up irritated and sweaty. Since I can no longer spend long hours standing up (my goodness, I never knew I'd come to this!), I've been spending long hours sitting down and working on my computer. These, explains the back pain.
Good thing John has been paying attention in our classes with Rome, that he indulges me in back rubs. Aah, feels good man! I wish I could program his hands to automatically dole out back rubs, non-stop.
Maybe this weird weather has something to do with it, too. It's been so hot and humid these past weeks. I'd wake up in the middle of the night, or afternoon (whichever timezone my body clock chooses to be in) feeling all sticky and sweaty. Pregnant body temperature + hot and humid weather = DISASTER.
Forgive my temporary crankiness, it's the aching back and lack of sleep whining. I've been feeling VERY pregnant lately. Translation: Heavy, Sore, and Tired..
Mommies, how do you deal with back pain and sleeplessness during pregnancy? Tips?
Most pregnant women really experience severe back pain, my friend. This is because of the released hormones that lead to the loosening of your joints and ligaments. Your posture is also being affected by your weight, and too much standing and bending over. My only advice is you undergo chiropractic treatment. It is well–suited for pregnant women as it may help you improve the balance and alignment in your spine. It can also relieve stress and help to bring about a safe pregnancy and delivery for you and your precious baby.

Hi Tiffani!
DeleteThank you so much for the advice! I have been wanting to try out Chiropractic Treatments for the longest time. Can you recommend a health professional who can provide me with this?
By the way, turns out that the severe back pain was not only due to the weight shift caused by my heavy belly, the culprit was UTI (this was due to 2 days of fasting for lab works).
Hope to hear from you soon!
Have a wonderful day :)
