The good news? We now have Charlie's Soap! A safe, non-toxic, biodegradable soap that's safe for babies, hypoallergenic, and best of all- ECONOMICAL!
Charlie's Soap is an American brand that has been around since 1976. Their products are all made with coconut oil base and contain pure, highest grade, completely soluble, Green River, WY soda ash (washing soda). Their soap formulas have been fully tested for non-toxicity (Duke University) and biodegradability (Japan Food Research Labs) and effectiveness (SGS US Testing Labs).
The Review:
The soap doesn't smell like anything. It simply smells clean- no fragrance, no chemical smell, just a pure, very clean, smell. The jar contains a green scooper, which measures about a tablespoon of powdered soap. I loaded up a full washload into my machine (65L) and used only a scoop, as written on the instructions, for the entire load. Since it doesn't contain harmful chemicals like borax, etc, it's not bubbly/foamy. After washing and drying, the clothes were indeed cleaner and weeks old stains were gone. With it's eco-friendliness and at 650 for 1.2 kg jar for 80 washloads, which goes a long way since you only need 1 scoop per ful load or 1/2 scoop for hand-washing, At only P8.13 for a full load and P4.06 for a light load, Charlie's Soap will definitely be a staple in my home! Another good news is I will be including Charlie's Soap on my New Online Shop!
Charlie's Soap is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Green360 Trading, owned by Mr. and Mrs.William Chan. who also distributes Charlie Banana Cloth Diapers in the Philippines. Green360 Trading started in 2007 when the couple decided to open a laundry business that uses biodegradable detergent, as a way of doing their part in preserving the environment. They found Charlie's Soap which had great reviews and decided to carry it since. They also tested it on their baby's clothes, which didn't cause any harsh, allergic reaction thus, they also launched it as a baby's soap.
According to Mr. Chan, they believe in Charlie's Soap because, "It is an
all-natural detergent that is definitely safe, non-toxic and
hypoallergenic. It is made of coconut-based ingredients and does not
have any perfumes (unscented). It just leaves a wonderfully clean
smell after laundry, without any scent. It won’t mask unnecessary
smell so you know that your clothes are really clean. Plus, since you
only need one scoop to wash a full load of clothes in a machine.
Sometimes for baby clothes or diapers, you only need half a scoop of
the detergent. So it is definitely economical."
Because Christmas is a time of giving and sharing our blessings, our very generous friends from Green360 Trading kicks of our Christmas Countdown Giveaway with 2 Jars of Charlie's Soap! Just follow the tasks on the Rafflecopter widget below to join.
